Dog Training and Obedience with Lorenzo Wiese-Hansen

My dog training and obedience facility is located at 2411 "R" avenue, Anacortes. Most of my dog training and obedience classes take place here but I also do private (one on one) dog training and obedience at a client's home, or at my facility. "Board and train" is a concept welcomed by people that travel a lot. Board the dog with Sunnyhill Kennels and I will pick it up and train it. Two weeks is the minimum time needed for basic obedience, additional time might be necessary, depending on the dog. I evaluate problem dogs and I can often modify their behavior. My puppy classes are trouble prevention at it's best, and are recommended by local vets.

About Dog Trainer Lorenzo Wiese-Hansen

When I was 14 years old, a new friend moved into our neighborhood. This was one of the most life-changing events of my life... he had an English Pointer named "Lord". He and I walked for hours in the hills near where we lived with Lord. We learned through trial and error how to train him. He became an accomplished obedience competitor, did well in dog shows and placed in Pointer field trials. One of the benefits which was totally unexpected was that he was a 'chick magnet', something teenage boys certainly appreciated! I have loved dogs and the lifestyle that comes with sharing my life with them since that childhood experience.

Dog Training Options

Boarding and Basic Dog Obedience Training Combination. In cooperation with Sunny Hill Kennels. We will take good care of your dog while he/she undergoes the training you require. You are required to have "take-over training" at the end of your dog's sessions. Private Lessons at my facility or at your home. We will design the right program to achieve the desired outcome, to help you and your dog enjoy your lives together. You will learn how to establish proper control over your dog both on and off a leash. This is extremely important as dogs that only know how to listen on a leash are only half-trained. With our positive reinforcement training method, your animal's basic obedience and confidence improves and your experience will be more enjoyable.

Advanced Dog Training Obedience Classes

Some of my clients have expressed a wish to train their dog to the next level. The intention of this training is to reach a level of what is needed for novice obedience competition and canine good citizen test. The qualification for this class is to have finished a basic obedience class, or to show me a level of obedience of similar standard. A punch card will be issued for this training, which will cover 5 sessions. It will not be a structured class. I will work with each one individually. For that reason, class size is limited to 6 dogs at the time. If you cannot come one week, come the next and keep at it. Daytime and evening will be available.

Funefficent Dog Training and Obedience Customer Comments

Last year I took our one year old Lhasa Apso to Lorenzo at Funefficient dog training. Joey was almost totally untrained - destructive, stubborn, mischievous, but lovable. After talking with Lorenzo and his observing Joey's behavior, it was agreed that a two week training period was in order, with daily workouts. This was followed by several sessions at our home, where we were trained in reinforcing Lorenzo's methods. We noticed many changes in our dog's behavior. Lorenzo's long, professional experience in dog training is remarkable. He is gentle but firm, extremely patient and good humored in helping dogs and their owners learn new habits and behavior. I heartily endorse and recommend his Funefficient establishment for training all ages and breeds of dogs, and am grateful for his encouragement to us in adapting to life with a difficult pet. -- Mary Jackson

Dear Lorenzo, Our white toy poodle, Wolfie, probably wasn't your best student but the things you taught us have been very helpful. We are certainly glad that we went to the basic obedience class. And, some of what you helped us pass on to Wolfie has taken. I doubt if we need any more training for me (or us) the rest continues to be a trial and error but we are very happy with our lovely dog. I think that keeping the small and big dogs separate is a very good idea and would have helped Wolfie. He is much better with big dogs now (usually bosses them around) but, at the time, he hadn't been socialized much. I also like the punch card system. Again, just wanted to let you know that you seem to be doing all the right things and we will continue to recommend your dog training to anyone needing training assistance. -- Bob, Hope & Wolfie Rendleman
